Qui suis je ?
J’ai la chance,
de vivre près de Montpellier, le soleil et la belle lumière. Peut être là, s’est produit le déclic qui m’a ouvert les yeux pour « regarder » la vie, les gens, les choses un peu autrement. Après un long parcours dans la recherche en biologie, mon envie de peindre s’est imposée. Cette trajectoire n’est pas une coïncidence ni complètement le fait du hasard. Peindre est pour moi une autre façon de réfléchir, de me servir de mes yeux et de mes mains. J’en ai fait mon nouveau métier et la Maison des Artistes m’a donné un nouveau statut.
La peinture?
C’est un langage où les couleurs fonctionnent comme un alphabet. Cette forme d’écriture a le pouvoir d’être « universelle » mais chacun y voit et comprend ce qu’il veut. C’est précisément ce qui m’intéresse et me plait. Encore faut il que cette écriture interpelle et qu’on s’y arrête un moment. Un peu de technique, un oeil curieux et observateur, l’envie de toucher et de surprendre, le goût des couleurs, et … du temps, de plus en plus de temps. Voilà! Le plaisir est là au bout des doigts et moi, j’ai entamé mon deuxième roman!
La gravure?
Ce fut la découverte récente d’un tout autre univers et la rencontre d’artistes d’un autre genre dans les ateliers de La Maison de la Gravure Méditerranée auxquels je participe avec enthousiasme depuis 2016. C’est une démarche artistique très expérimentale qui demande beaucoup de temps de réflexion pour porter le projet à maturation avant de pouvoir définir l’ordre les étapes à suivre pour y parvenir. Chaque étape débouche néanmoins sur des surprises ou des « accidents » inattendus que je finis par espérer tant ils sont stimulants à ma créativité. La gravure et la peinture sont devenus pour moi deux modes d’expression artistique très complémentaires. Aborder la gravure faisait « sens » dans l’évolution de mon travail. Je combine aujourd’hui les deux.
Les écritures?
Considérez les comme une légende possible qui accompagne quelques unes de mes toiles.
Le partage, communiquer cette passion, un travail sur l’image et une nouvelle source d’inspiration …. Ce site est dans le prolongement de ce projet. Il est devenu un outils pour approfondir ce travail, un stimulant pour exprimer mes nouvelles sensibilités et potentiellement un moyen pour me construire un réseau.
Voici donc cette nouvelle mise en page dans laquelle j’ai rassemblé mes dernières toiles et mes nouvelles estampes. Toutes celles présentées dans cette galeries sont disponibles à la vente.

Living in the Montpellier area is very good for a painter: indeed, the region is very sunny and the light strong and beautiful. I think that after I moved to the South of France, I opened my eyes and started to look at life, people and simple things in a slightly different way. Before, I was a very busy biologist and all my energies were drawn into the highly competitive world of scientific research. Nevertheless, even then, deep inside me, the desire of painting was slowly growing and little by little it has taken over my entire life. I am sure that the decision to leave behind biology to focus completely on art is the result of a change in my way of thinking, in the way I use my eyes and my hands. Painting has been my other real passion besides biology, but it was kept silent for a long time. Moving to the South of France helped me finding the strength for pursuing it in a very serious way.
Why painting?
To me, painting is a language in which colors take the place of words. Like for a book, a painting can be “read” by everybody, but the emotions conveyed by the work will be very personal, depending on each person’s life journey. As a consequence, in front of a painting we all have different opinions, feelings. This is precisely what interests me and what I like so much. However, first of all a painter (like a writer) needs to get the viewer’s attention and long enough to move his/her feelings: technical skills, a curious eye opened to the world, the desire to surprise and to touch people’s feelings, a love for colors and … time, a lot of time. Voila! The pleasure of painting becomes suddenly « palpable » and I have started writing my own never-ending story!
Why engraving? After almost ten years of painting activity, it was just time for me to experiment these singular artistical approaches. What attracts me a lot in engraving is precisely the approach: the need to take the time for reflexion in order to bring the art project to maturation before finding out the different technical ways to reach that goal. Each step brings surprises and unexpected results that largely open my sense of creativity. The other good point was also the opportunity to meet artists of another kind and to work in an other new place. I joined La Maison de la Gravure Méditerranée in 2016. I do now combine the two kinds of art with lots of pleasure.
The writings?
They could be seen as « legends » that illustrate some of my paintings.
I want to stir emotions and curiosity, to share this passion and … to indulge in this fulfilling activity, which is to me the expression of my way of life. This web site is an extension of this project. It has become a tool to further explore my artistic side, a stimulus to express my new feelings and, possibly, a way to build a social network.
Here you’ll find the new layout in which I gathered my latest paintings and my engraving prints. As you will see, it is a mixture of genres, styles, subjects and colors. It is indeed an open book begun a long time ago …
